This was a front page headline story in one of our local papers.
It seems we still have a long way to go for a hassle free time.

Naked cycle shock

POLICE are hunting a cyclist who rode
through a picturesque Suffolk village in the
nude.
The naked rider was spotted in Waldingfield
Road, Acton, near Sudbury, between 2.45pm
and 2.55pm on Monday.
Police have classified the incident as one
of "outraging public decency" and today
appealed for the public to help catch him.
After the report came in, police searched
the area but he was not found.
A police spokeswoman said: "He is
described as white, in his late 20s, of slim
build with dark hair and was riding a
racing bike with curly handles."
Christine Johnson, who recently stepped
down as clerk of Acton Parish Council after 43
years' service, said: "Well I missed that treat
and he must have gone pretty much past my
door.
"It all happens in Acton."
It remains unclear whether the naked rider
is a village resident or somebody passing
through the village.
About 12 incidents each year are classified
by police as "outraging public decency"
During the past two years, such incidents
have included sex acts in public and a man in
his 20s committing an act of gross indecency
in a street in Brandon.

As these days the classifying of offenses is all done by ticking boxes on computer systems, I wonder who perpetrated that one.

Cas-couple,

I don't recall whether you are BN members or not but it would be worth sending the original cutting (in context) or an internet link to it to the RLO at BN.

This is exactly the sort of incident that they are trying to address; no evidence that anyone was offended or that any offence was intended and yet the police want to call it outraging public decency. Sounds like a good opportunity for the police to receive a little gentle education from BN.

It appears to have been a prank by a textile out cycling who saw a community speed gun check, and spontaneously decided to show them what a real streaker passing through the village looked like.

there are four reports over the course of a week.
Search site for "Naked cyclist", to view them.
The police classification of the incident as "outraging public decency", appears wrong as the witnesses, the speed gun team laughed about it, and the reports make no mention of anyone being offended.

I would class the guy as an exhibitionist then. Naked in public purely to get a reaction of some kind. So although it was a bit of fun it tends to give true naturists a bit of a bad name.

Because the general public see this kind of thing in the same light as naturism. I dont want to be assiciated with him thanks very much
